На самом деле я не знаю, кто бы из вас не проходил мимо этого дома на улице Яфет в старом Яффо. Когда поворачиваем по улице на площадь в Яффо (там, где стоит кит, потом Наполеон), то это здание у нас точно за спиной. на перекрестке. Удивительно, как я никогда не видела его, понятия не имею. А рядом с ним дом с зубчатыми башенками.

Так вот, это колледж College Des Freres. Учатся там, конечно, в основном арабы, как я понимаю, христиане. Но вот, что я прочла на одном из сайтов.

" agree with Daniel.I was at the College from 1951-64 & can testify that many of the children were Jewish or Christians who came from all over the world. We had arab children from Jaffa, Nazareth & other areas. Some were Christian, some Muslim. The Freres were catholics and some lay teachers were Jewish or Christian. We all mixed & grew up together. We left College Des Freres with a solid education, values and tolerance. This also applies to the College Des Soeurs.
I'm a Catholic married to a Muslim lady.This is the month of Holy Ramadan and I support her in her fasting.As to Selim El Far I regret you felt compelled to leave. Some of your friends in Jaffa didn't.I hope your years at the College gave you the basis for a good & fruitful life. Nor Daniel or myself are using this platform for political debate but to make the point that the College Des Freres & Soeurs are left out of it. They are still too close to our hearts,40/50 yrs later. Regards and may the Peace of God be with you. "

"I was a student at College des Freres Jaffa, and I am addressing the people in charge of the web site called "Palestine remembered.com".
I Think you should stop using my school as a medium for your political opinions with all due respect for your opinions. Especially College des freres, because that school was a perfect example of a non-political school, there were arab students, jewish students, & christian students there all getting along with each other, in many cases living and eating together if they were pensionaires. There were no distinctions between any of them, everybody was treated equally. The staff at the school was also a mixture of both arab and jewish teachers, the people who ran the school, the freres were catholics. That school was a perfect example showing that people can co-exist in peace no matter what their origin. It will be appreciated if you use another medium for your cause.
